  8. Due to USA export restrictions for cryptographic software
  9. the program may not be distributed on AmiNet. This archive
  10. contains only the announcement sent to c.s.a.announce
  11. together with the chapter of the documentation describing
  12. the program.

  15. site "ftp.uni-paderborn.de" or "kelly.uni-paderborn.de" in
  16. the directory "util/crypt" for the most recent version.

  18. Description
  19. ~~~~~~~~~~~
  20. DiskProtection encrypts data totally invisible for the user while writing to
  21. disk. All blocks are encrypted, so the directories are protected, too.
  22. DiskProtection supports all exec devices, i.e. harddrive partititions,
  23. floppy disks, but not the RAM-disk. Any filesystem can be used.

  25. It features:
  26.  - encryption with IDEA, FEAL, DES
  27.  - (XPK-)interface for additional algorithms
  28.  - configurable with easy to use preferences program
  29.  - encryption can be changed anytime
  30.  - resident passwords (for use with mailboxes)
  31.  - access protection
  32.  - GUI driven, localized
  33.  - German and English documentation (ASCII, DVI, AmigaGuide)
  34.  - context sensitive online help

  37. DiskProtection requires OS2.0 and Triton-Library 1.3. A minimum distribution
  38. is included in the archive, but you should better look out for the complete
  39. archive "util/libs/tri13usr.lha" on AmiNet.
